As the thirtieth episode rolls out, Beckett and BK are swept away in the swirling morass that can only be metaplot. The dynamic duo discuss the role of metaplot in RPGs, and the oWoD in particular, offering their views on the successful narratives.
They close out by considering two aspects of metaplot from Vampire and Werewolf, with some alternate approaches to Assamites, Tremere, Stargazers, Ratkin, and Gurahl. Sadly there are no Hitchcock cameos in this episode.
Remember that we're running the first Midnight Express Competition [http://themidnightexpresspodcast.gamerz.co/topic368.html for details] and $20.00 to spend with our friends at Drivethrurpg could be yours! You have until May 6th to be in the running.

In the latest Shard, Darling_Rose and BK find Big Trouble in the shape of the the Jade Demon (aka Lo Pan) from The Book of Chantries. They discuss the history of the Jade Dragon, and how to use this Nephandi and his minions for Mage (with some ideas for Kindred of the East, Vampire, and Werewolf for good measure).
The recommended books for this Shard are The Book of Chantries, The Book of Madness, The Thousand Hells, and The Book of Crafts. Remember that any titles purchased through our affiliate links help out the show.
The message boards mentioned by Darling_Rose can be found here and here. You'll also find the links over at the Forum post for this episode.
As usual, drop by the Forum, the Facebook page, or send us an email via email@example.com. Listener feedback is always appreciated, and we do acknowledge it on the air.
Next time, Pete and I suit up as wartime Consigliere to review a World of Darkness title and announce the first of our ongoing competitions - oWoD source books could be yours!

BK and Wendell_Burke step onto the mean streets of the World of Darkness to explore notions of darkness in storytelling, hiding the supernatural, and the role of consequence. This is the first in a series throughout 2017 to examine what the key concepts in the oWoD are, and how to evoke them at the table.
If you have any ideas for the list, post them over at the forum, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org, or post on the Facebook page.
See you all in two weeks for Episode 29, featuring a new Shard of Darkness!
Hosts: BK & Wendell_Burke

Following the earlier Platform Twenty-Six-Seven article, Rose and BK turn their attention to designing carriages for the Midnight Express. Some general design principles are covered, and then three new carriages are given the old World of Darkness treatment.

In this second solo episode, BK focuses on one article in White Wolf Magazine #40 - namely one on Blood Cults for Vampire: the Masquerade.
He breaks the article down, offers advice and background for creating cults in your own Vampire games, and discusses the motivations of would-be cultists to make it more challenging for your players. As the community continues to rub off on him, there is even mention of cross-over games in this episode (without prompting).

Day three of the 'Week of Darkness' and it's time for some Wraith goodness!
Back in Episode 25 of the Midnight Express Podcast, Rose and I reviewed 'Midnight Express', a sourcebook for Wraith: the Oblivion. In part one of the web enhancement for the episode, Platform Twenty-Six-Seven is outlined for use in your chronicle. The article presents a history of the platform, and Hierarchy control; as well as a small host of NPCs for your game.
Part Two will outline some extra carriages for the train.

Day two of the Week of Darkness is upon us and who better to share the day with than the Wyrm? Nurture your despair with a new web enhancement from the Midnight Express.
As the masses rush across the planet - app in hand - in search of small animals to enslave, this web enhancement considers how such a fad could be positioned into the World of Darkness (specifically the setting for Werewolf: the Apocalypse).
It provides a precis of the Pentex involvement and how the app has been integrated into the business practices of some of the company's subsidiaries, as well as suggesting some plot hooks for Storytellers.
Whilst this is written for the Werewolf: the Apocalypse setting, it could easily be re-purposed for any of the World of Darkness lines.
You can download the enhancement here: https://kippersandjam.wordpress.com/2016/10/31/web-enhancement-minimonsters-go/

The Week of Darkness is upon us! Yes, every day this week will contain a content release from Midnight Express. The horror! The horror!
In this episode, our resident interviewer Rose sits down with Beckett in the Cafe Car of the Midnight Express to get to know one of our elusive hosts. They cover gaming in the military, Beckett's origins (and that action figure), Beckett's pick of gaming, the recipe for Beckett Burgers, and take things to The Maxx.
The White Wolf magazines containing the three parts of 'The World of Future Darkness' are Issue 36, Issue 37, and Issue 38 (and stay tuned for more magazine coverage in the next episode).
Hosts: Rose & Beckett.

In Episode 22 of the Midnight Express Podcast, Pete and I discussed Samuel Haight, 'The Skinner' from Werewolf: the Apocalypse. Presented here is a distillation of chronicle ideas to use the most infamous of Garou in your own chronicle. These ideas position Haight as a possible saviour of the Garou Nation, and the Rite of Sacred Rebirth as a desperate weapon against the Wyrm.

All aboard! To celebrate the 25th episode, BK and Rose part with some oboli for tickets on the Midnight Express. They discuss the book in some detail, converse on the nature of Ferrymen, and then highlight one module each from the book. There is plenty of advice on how to use the modules, and really bring some character to the train.
Buy your ticket now, or face the prospect of being thrown into the tempest by a grumpy conductor!
